The Buncrana community is mourning the heartbreaking and untimely loss of Aaron Friel, a young man whose life was tragically cut short following a road traffic collision at Kinnego Cross, Ballymagan, in Inishowen.
According to reports, the fatal crash occurred shortly before 9:10 p.m. on July 5, 2026, when the car Aaron was driving was involved in a collision with another vehicle. Emergency services responded to the scene, and while three other young adults were transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, Aaron sadly did not survive.
Authorities, including An Garda Síochána, have confirmed that investigations into the circumstances surrounding the collision are ongoing. They have also appealed to the public for any witnesses or individuals with dashcam footage to come forward, as efforts continue to establish the full details of the incident.
